how can I fix the beard trimmer part of my Norelco razor?

I have a Norelco electric razor. The shaving apparatus still works fine, but the beard trimmer element (on the back side) just stopped working a couple days ago.
The beard trimmer snaps up. There is a little plastic piece that moves back and forth and it is supposed to connect to the blade and move the blade, but somehow this connection seems to have stopped working. The little plastic piece still moves back and forth but the blade no longer movies.

Any ideas how I can fix this? I've had the razor for about four years, and I don't want to replace it yet because the main functions (the shaver) still works fine.

I got it at Sears, but I no longer live anywhere near a Sears or any similar business, so I can't take it to get fixed.

Do a google.com for NORELCO and look for CONTACT US. Call them and tell them your problem. The tekkies can probably walk you through it or they will ask you to send it to them if the warranty is still good.
Disposables don't have that problem.
Good luck!

I'm looking for a beard/mustache trimmer with a cap-guard that has a VERY low setting to the blade.?

I read some reviews of trimmers on line and one reviewer said a Norelco T6000 trims to six - hundredths of an inch. I'm assuming that's with the cap guard. If anyone knows of a good product out there and can give me some advise, I'd certainly appreciate the feedback.

Get a woman to cut your mustache for you.

Why isn't a regular disposable blade enough for you???

good luck with that

Where can I get simple repairwork done on a Norelco Accuvac T770 beard trimmer, near my home in San Jose, CA?

All parts appear intact and the unit still works. A small (about 1 x 3 cm) plastic tab popped out of its slot when the unit was dropped and I've been unable to get it back in. When the trim-closeness adjustment wheel is turned, 2 small metal tips along the side of the unit move in and out, which normally moves this tab up and down, thereby adjusting the height of the plastic guide/comb above the blades.

Personally, I'd just buy a new one. They are only about $30. You probably aren't going to find anyone that will fix it for less than that. Here's a list of some new ones you can buy:

http://shopping.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=slv1-&p=norelco%20accuvac%20t770&cop=mss&fr2=tab-web

If you do want to have it repaired, I'd contact Norelco directly at 1-800-243-3050. Ask them where their nearest authorized repair center is. If it's not close enough, you may be able to mail it to them.

What can I (a male) do to make shaving my face hurt less?

I hate shaving so much that I only do it once a week. I have to use a beard trimmer, then electric razor, then blade razor after warming my face with a steaming towel, followed by aftershave. Razor burn hurts! Help!
(posted for my husband)

I find that pre-conditioning my face ie., scrubbing it with my soaped shower brush a couple times while I am showering, makes my face less sensitive. I think it is also less painful to shave while you shower. Your skin is moisturized and not so resistant to the razor
